Portada 2017 García de Pou

THE COVER OF THE NEW CATALOG IS FROM …

If you’ve been our client for a while, then you’ll know that the preparation, design and production of our annual catalogue is something we take very seriously in this house. It’s a question not only of showing more than 6.000 products that we offer as as clearly as possible, but also of making the design memorable. One of the habits that we’ve turned into tradition is commissioning well known painters, illustrators or comic novelists for the cover page of the new catalogue.

Our catalogue cover has been drawn and painted by Javier Mariscal, Forges, Antonio Vives Fierro, Ramon Moscardó, Manel Anoro, Antoni Pitxot, Leonard Beard… each one contributing their particular style and their vision of the hotel trade world.

This year we have asked the famous illustrator and comic novelist Daniel Torres, from the New Valencian School to contribute with a personal proposal. And this has been the result: an uplifting picture, in his usual colors; trucks full of Garcia de Pou’s products enter the service door and are taken up to the highest levels, where the moon is served on silver trays.

Daniel Torres

Daniel Torres is an internationally recognised contemporary comic author.

We love the idea that Torres transmits, that our products are so versatile. They may be used in a romantic candlelight dinner, or by a couple of skaters surfing with their take-away food, or for a dinner with friends and wine on the top terrace.

The verticality of his work doesn’t lack his characteristic skyscrapers and vintage American look.

Daniel Torres is a comic and graphic novel author. He’s able to transmit a whole range of emotions, thoughts and experiences in vignette sequences. His talent is appreciated and recognised internationally and is considered one of the most consolidated authors of the contemporary Spanish comic, with one of his novels translated into many languages. He designed the cover for our catalogue 1994/95.

Portada Daniel Torres | García de Pou

We have already relied on Daniel Torres’ talent for the front cover of our catalogue 1994/95.

His most famous character is Roco Vargas, created in the eighties, an adventurer who moves in a retro-futurist world searching answers for existentialists questions. We have selected, too, four compositions of the last album number nine “Jupiter“ (April, 2017), of the series Roco Vargas, to illustrate a new collection of single table sets that is presented inside this new catalogue.

Mantelines

Single table set “Cómic“, Daniel Torres / Norm Edit. Roco Vargas. Choice of 4 models in every box (text in Spanish).

We are truly proud to count on Daniel Torres’s creations and we hope that our catalogue encourages you to get to know his work better.
