2024 has been a key year for electronic commerce and the Ecommerce awards are a good example of this. These awards, which have become the main benchmark for the sector in Spain, had a record participation this year, with more than 200 projects and 500 applications presented, an increase of 40% compared to the 2023 edition. The competition has been fierce since both traditional brands and digital native companies are now more than ever counting on the digitalization of their operations.
All the finalists from the various categories met at the gala event which was held on the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid in the auditorium of ICEX (Spanish institute of foreign trade), a public company which promotes Spanish companies in international markets and attracts foreign investment to the country. The day began strongly with an opening address from Rubén Bastón and Yara Querado, respectively the Director and the Social Media Manager of Marketing4eCommerce. One of the most rewarding moments was the opportunity to attend a round table event in which the finalists of categories such as best international strategy, best marketing campaign, best manager and/or best eCommerce of the year shared their experiences and strategies.
The awards ceremony was broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube, which gave the event a wider circulation. In total 13 projects in different categories were given recognition and we are proud that Garcia de Pou won the award for Best B2B Ecommerce in Spain 2024.
This recognition is a great achievement for us and highlights our dedication to the development of our ecommerce platform. At Garcia De Pou, we have firmly committed to digitalisation as a key tool to satisfy the needs of our B2B clients. Amongst other things, this has involved the constant improvement of the website Garcia de Pou, a platform designed for wholesalers and distributers that offers up-to-the minute solutions such as fast purchase, product customisation, downloading of technical sheets and product images, sample request, managing returns and generating quotes.
In this edition the most represented sectors were fashion and footwear, food, cosmetics, technology and computing, and furniture and decoration. This shows the wide range of industries that are being transformed thanks to ecommerce. At Garcia De Pou we are excited to be part of this evolution.
Other big names in ecommerce were also recognised alongside Garcia De Pou, such as Vinoselección who were chosen as Best Ecommerce of the year, David Martin, CEO of Tradeinn was voted Best manager of the year, whilst brands such as KFC, Cosentino and Freshly Cosmetics were highlighted in categories related to marketing and internationalisation. We feel honoured to share this space with such innovative and respected projects.
This award is not only recognition of our work, but also inspires us to continue improving and expanding what we can offer and to continue innovating.
